SeaTurtle Entertainment is a new entrant to the cinema business, and chose Clarity to provide a state-of-the-art IT solution fit for its remarkable new venture in South Carolina, USA. The Clarity solution combines head office software with a group of new, web browser based cinema operation modules, and has run smoothly and effectively from the outset. Developed using the Microsoft .NET platform, this solution is delivering unprecedented flexibility, efficiency and profitability to SeaTurtle's business.

SeaTurtle Entertainment made its cinema industry debut by opening a spectacular 2,200 seat, 12 screen, 53,000 square foot SeaTurtle Cinemas venue in South Carolina, USA, in November 2005. This beautiful cinema is the anchor attraction of a new open-air mall offering a variety of complementary hospitality facilities.
"SeaTurtle Cinemas is a state-of-the art venue", says KRA Inc. project architect Michael Kronimus. He states, "We took the best of everything and put it here, it's the most efficient cinema we've ever built." Each auditorium has stadium seating, rocker chairs, retractable arm rests and DTS and Dolby digital sound systems.
Brief
SeaTurtle Cinemas is the realisation of the lifelong dreams of Lori Kaylor and Angelo Carrabba, respectively the developer and owner of this high-end cinema. Since this is their first entry into hands-on cinema management, they sought a technology provider with a lot of operational experience and expertise, to help them get the facility up and running efficiently.
To ensure that the cinema's IT systems were as state-of-the-art and efficient as the complex itself, an exhaustive search and analysis of IT providers was undertaken. A key requirement was that the new system should be 'future proof', so that management will not find itself looking for a new system in years to come.
Solution
SeaTurtle's exhaustive IT supplier search resulted in the selection of Clarity Commerce Solutions. The IT system installed by Clarity is based on its flagship product, Clarity Central - an 'ERP' system for single or multi-site leisure operations - and a group of Microsoft .NET-based cinema management software modules. This new, Microsoft .NET-based system has been running smoothly from the venue's first day of operation.
