Clarity’s 4690 Services Group, previously known as MATRA, is one of the world's premier providers of solutions and services that add value to the IBM 4690 POS systems environment. We employ some of the original designers of both the enormously successful first generation applications (SA, GSA, CDSA) and the next generation ACE offering for supermarkets. Our understanding of these solutions, and how the retailer uses them, surpasses that of any other services provider.
Our highly-skilled 4690 team members regularly work on projects with major 4690 users around the world, offering development services and design consultancy, training and support. We apply this technical and managerial skill set to projects supporting installations with a few stores to the biggest players in the world with many thousands of registers in the enterprise.
More importantly, many of the components which make up ClarityLive, the product set, are able to integrate with the 4690, extending its capability significantly and delivering value to the business. Through straightforward integration of the capabilities of ClarityLive, the 4690 can be enhanced with, for example, better promotional capability, refund management, digital receipt, real time information exchange, loss prevention, electronic gift cards, loyalty schemes, cashless environments, electronic payments and more.
If 4690 is the platform of choice for the retailer, GSA through ACE, Clarity is the partner of choice to maintain, develop and enhance that platform. Our migration practice is unique in the marketplace. The combination of our experience and our product toolset make us the partner of choice to deliver the lowest risk migration from legacy 4690 products to the new ACE platform. Even within the confines of the same IBM 4690 Operating System, the transition from SA to ACE is a significant technical and operational undertaking. Clarity is applying its expertise with both platforms to assist major retailers in meeting this challenge with maximized business protection and minimized risk.
For some retailers though, notwithstanding ACE, the 4690 lacks the agility to keep pace with the increasing demands of modern retail. In that case we can offer ClarityLive POS: Our modern, multi-channel POS solution is unique in its ability to work alongside or completely replace the 4690 environment in a low cost, low risk phased manner. ClarityLive provides a superset of SA and GSA function and supports 4690 functions, file interfaces, operational processes and messages.
